About the trust

Maavadi Charitable Trust

A Surat organisation devoted to cows, and to charitable work carried out in the same spirit of seva.

Who we are

Registered for the care of cows

Maavadi Charitable Trust is how the organisation is known publicly. Its registered name is Maavadi Gaushala Trust, entered in Surat as E/9964/Surat. It is a non-profit charitable organisation.

The trust’s home is Maavadi Gaushala, beside Gabi Hanuman Mandir on Vesu Canal Road, opposite Pujan Plaza and near the HP petrol pump, in Surat, Gujarat 395011. From that address it shelters cows and tends to their feeding, protection, and medical needs.

Cow protection is the centre of the work, not an occasional programme. Around it, the trust also takes part in religious and spiritual activities, education and social welfare, and food distribution. Those efforts belong together: a community that learns to care for the cow is already practising a wider charity.

This page states only what the trust has placed on record. It does not name founders, quote a year of establishment, or offer counts of animals or beneficiaries. Those details can be added when the trust wishes to publish them.

Vision

Cows protected, and compassion practised in public

The trust’s vision is a Surat in which cows are sheltered with dignity, and in which Gau Seva is understood as a daily discipline rather than a festival gesture. Spiritual life and practical charity sit beside that aim, so the Gaushala remains part of the neighbourhood, not apart from it.

Mission

Shelter, feed, treat, and serve

The mission is to protect cows at Maavadi Gaushala; to provide food, shelter, and medical care; to receive animals that need rescue; and to support religious life, education, food distribution, and other charitable work from the same trust.

Core values

How the work is meant to feel

Compassion

An animal that is hungry, injured, or frightened is met with care, not with hurry.

Seva

Service is repeated and ordinary: fodder, water, a clean shelter, a watchful eye.

Heritage

The cow is part of Gujarat’s heritage. Protecting cows is an act of memory as well as mercy.

Integrity

The trust publishes what it can stand behind. It does not invent figures to impress a visitor.

Community

The Gaushala belongs beside a mandir and a neighbourhood, open to people who wish to offer time or support.

Reverence

Spiritual observance is part of the trust’s life, held with respect and without display for its own sake.

Commitment

Cow protection and social welfare, held in one trust

Maavadi Gaushala is not separate from the trust’s wider charity. The same organisation that shelters a cow also understands feeding a person, supporting a student’s learning, and keeping a place of worship as kinds of service. Visitors are invited to begin with the cow, and to stay for the rest.
